About

Started in 2000, Wednesday Morning Velo (WMV) has grown in popularity as the social ride of choice for local business people that are also avid cyclists.

Through most our history, the group meets at Amante Coffee in North Boulder and splits into four groups and heads out to ride.  Each Group will ride a predetermined route, selected by the ride sponsor and approved by the organizers.  Choose which ride is best for you and your training.  At the end of the ride, we get together to share stories and business cards.

Summer Season Rides start the first week of May and run through the last week of September.  We leave at 6:30AM sharp (6:45 after Labor Day) and return to Amante for coffee and pastries provided by that sponsor.

HISTORY

We started as a small group of professionals looking to ride our bikes before work and network.  This is a 100% community oriented group that welcomes anyone who wants to join us as long as you can comfortably ride in a peloton.

Sponsors pay for our weekly coffee and pastries every Wednesday and are highlighted in our twice weekly newsletter. Sponsors also get a few minutes prior to the ride to showcase their business and discuss the route of the day.

In 2013, many of us got together in response to the floods and raised more than $200,000 for Jamestown and Lyons, leading to the formation of Cyclists 4 Community, a new 501(c)(3) charitable organization, whose mission is for cyclists, business people and individuals to give back to the communities we ride in and forge positive relationships with other users of the roads and trails.
